Ashley Boynes-Shuck is an author, blogger, health coach manager, influencer, and speaker, based 41913578_10106157987814993_2637597252503207936_nout of Pittsburgh, PA.

EDUCATION:

Ashley has a Bachelor’s Degree of the Arts in Humanities with concentrations in English Literature, English Writing, and Communication from the University of Pittsburgh. She also completed graduate work in Secondary Education and earned a certification in Integrative Nutrition, as well as having completed a course in Fashion through Parsons x Teen Vogue, a HIPAA/PHI Certification, and a Crystal Healing Certification. Currently, she is working on certifications in Music Business and Positive Psychology.

PASSIONS:

Ashley’s true passion is writing, but she is a multi-faceted hobbyist who also has strong interest — and experience — in public speaking, wellness, fashion, music, animals, advocacy, media, lifestyle, volunteerism,  crystals, entertainment business, marketing, social media, hosting, public relations, poetry, and all-things-pop-culture.

BACKGROUND:

Currently, Ashley work as a manager for a weight-loss and behavioral health mobile app startup, and is a freelance writer, book reviewer, PR specialist, and news reporter. She is the author of 3 published books, and the co-author of another. Her husband Mike has also authored a children’s book. Ms. Boynes-Shuck has worked in the marketing space for various tech companies and nonprofit organizations, as well as doing social media consulting on the side for myriad clientele including but not limited to pharmaceutical companies and folks in the entertainment industry.

Ashley created and formerly ran the popular Glitzburgh blog, as well as managing the online persona “Arthritis Ashley” for nearly ten years. She was also an on-air radio personality at 96.1 KISS fm (an iHeartRadio station) alongside DJ Bonics, and took Music Business classes at Clarion University of PA  (where she also was the Editor for ad layout, and wrote an entertainment column called Spotlight On, and an op-ed column called Beautiful Babble,) before transferring to PITT where she also interned at an advertising agency and tutored a South Korean student in English as a Second Language.

Ashley is currently at work on her fourth, fifth, and sixth books (!) and resides in a suburb of Pittsburgh with her schoolteacher husband Mike (also a personal trainer, children’s book author, and former American Ninja Warrior competitor!) and their 4 pets (a.k.a. the #shuckzoo!)

LIFE:

41361739_10106145066808793_8824340747235885056_nIn her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with family, pets, and friends, traveling, boating, birdwatching, astronomy, genealogy, shopping, horseback riding, being outdoors, reading, hiking, kayaking, diamond painting, and going to concerts. She writes poetry and song lyrics, and is learning to play piano, ukulele, and guitar. Ashley is a member of Mensa and the Lions Club, and an avid supporter of many animal rescue and arts  organizations.
