Ashley’s true passion is writing, but she is a multi-faceted hobbyist who also has strong interest — and experience — in public speaking, wellness, fashion, music, animals, advocacy, media, lifestyle, volunteerism, crystals, entertainment business, marketing, social media, hosting, and all-things-pop-culture.
Currently, Ashley works for a weight-loss mobile app startup, and is a freelance writer, book reviewer, and news reporter. She is the author of 3 published books, and the co-author of another. Ms. Boynes-Shuck has worked in the marketing space for various tech companies and nonprofit organizations, as well as doing social media consulting on the side for myriad clientele.
Ashley created and formerly ran the popular Glitzburgh blog, as well as managing the online persona “Arthritis Ashley” for nearly ten years. She was also an on-air radio personality at 96.1 KISS fm (an iHeartRadio station) alongside DJ Bonics, and took Music Business classes at Clarion University of PA before transferring to PITT.
Ashley is currently at work on her fourth book and resides in a suburb of Pittsburgh with her schoolteacher husband Mike (also a personal trainer, children’s book author, and former American Ninja Warrior competitor!) and their 5 pets (a.k.a. the #shuckzoo!)
In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, boating, birdwatching, astronomy, genealogy, shopping, being outdoors, reading, and going to concerts. She is a member of Mensa and the Lions Club, and an avid supporter of many animal rescue and arts organizations.
