On September 9th, members of the Robinson Lions Club had a booth at the annual Robinson Township Fall Festival. This yearly autumn fest is held at Burkett Sports Complex in Robinson.
This year, the Lions raised money for Leader Dogs for the Blind guide dog programs, as well as for hurricane and wildfire victims through the Lions Clubs International Disaster Relief Funds, particularly focusing upon helping those people and pets affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.
The Lions raffled off prizes including a wine basket and gift cards to the Mall at Robinson, the Pittsburgh International Airport’s AirMall, Market District, Eat n’ Park, and Kohl’s, thanks to generous corporate and private donors.
We also sold “toy brooms,” as a part of our annual Broom & Bags sale. These cute $6 brooms are perfect for kids or for fall decorating. This year, our brooms are extra-special as they were handcrafted by blind and visually-impaired individuals. Helping the blind and disabled communities are one of our hallmark causes (along with fundraising for service dogs) at the Robinson Lions Club, and we thank the Township of Robinson for another fun and successful Fall Festival.
