I am disappointed that they spelled my grandfather Leon Louis’ name incorrectly, but I am nonetheless flattered that the Lions Clubs International chose to feature me (and my mom Sharon Louis Boynes!) as the “One Of Us” story for the month of May 2017.
They pick one or two people to feature in the One Of Us section in each one of the 11 issues per year. This will be in both the print and online editions.
The print version of the LION Magazine goes out to over 1.4 million Lions Club members worldwide. This magazine is printed in 20 languages and has 32 editions — it’s even printed in braille!
The print version of this issue misspelled my grandfather Leon “Bups” Louis’ name. They had it spelled wrong (as Leon Lewis) but have corrected the article online to reflect the proper spelling. An apology and correction with the correct spelling will be issued in the July 2017 edition of LION Magazine.

Update: the print issues have been sent out. Lions Club members, check your mailboxes. The story is on Page 26. (Pictured below.)
Members of District 14-B, this story also made its rounds in the May 2017 issue of The Cauldron e-newsletter.
