Leon Louis Honored by the Robinson Lions Club & the Leader Dogs for the Blind Program

Last night I attended the Robinson Lions Club meeting with my family.

My late grandfather “Bups” (Leon Louis) who was a member for, I think, 42 years, was honored. My grandma Nana was given a plaque in his memory. A donation was made in his name to the Leader Dogs for the Blind program, for the blind and visually impaired.

As someone who liked dogs and cared about helping others, he would have loved this.

I am going to be joining the Lions Clubs International service organization in honor of my Bups, as well!

I have a background in nonprofit work, and, like him, I have a civic-minded heart for serving others.

I only wish that I had joined the Club while he was still with us. (I have, however, helped their district with social media and their website for years.) My mom is also a member.

We miss you, Bups! We are happy, though, to see your name live on through this Leader Dog program.
