ANNOUNCING THE 1st ANNUAL WearWoof SCOTCH & CHOCOLATE PARTY, PRESENTED BY FIRST NIAGARA

PITTSBURGH, PA, OCTOBER 4, 2014 – Animal welfare nonprofit WearWoof, under the tutelage of Executive Director Nancy Lee, will host their first annual Scotch & Chocolate Party at the James Gallery in the Historic West End Village of Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 4th, from 7-10 pm. Presented by First Niagara, this unique event will feature single malt scotches, chocolate treats, the MINI of Pittsburgh “selfie station”, fine food, sports, vacation, jewelry and other raffle and silent auction items, Guest Bartender Adora the Bull, and Mistress of Ceremonies, Miss Pennsylvania 2014, Valerie Gatto.

Single Malt Sponsors Tucker Arensberg, Air Turbine, Benchmark Therapies, Berger and Green, Berkeley Medical Equipment, Brown Agency-Allstate Insurance, LIFE Pittsburgh/Joann Gago, Sargeant Court Reporting Service, and Worldwide Express will compete for bragging rights and the coveted WearWoof Single Malt Champion trophy in a blind taste test of specially selected single malt scotches.

The night will begin with a red carpet, and end with the drawing of the many exciting prizes. Throughout the evening guests can sample decadent chocolate desserts sponsored by Camp Bow Wow, General Cleaning, MINI of Pittsburgh, the Perry Family, Tucker Arensberg, Winner Companies and special chocolate sponsor, Dorothy’s Candies.

WearWoof has established itself within the Western Pennsylvania animal welfare community as an ardent friend of animal shelters and rescues.  By providing funding and support to their dozens of partners, including Animal Friends, the Animal Rescue League, the Western PA Humane Society, Hello Bully, Butler County Humane Society and many more, WearWoof promotes a collaboration-based approach to ending pet homelessness in our region, with emphasis on aggressive spay-neuter programs and community outreach and education.
